The owner was unpacking a portable charger every time they got home. We put the Wall Connector on the wall right beside where the car parks, with its own isolator next to it and the run kept tight against the existing cladding. Charging is now a matter of plugging in.

This owner wanted the car charging built into the home's energy system rather than bolted on beside it. We installed Sigenergy battery storage with DC charging in the garage, so storage and charging sit in the one place. A bollard went in front of the battery because cars move past it every day.

There was very little usable wall left around the parking area, so placement was most of this job. The Sungrow went on the centre wall between the two garage doors, close to the cars and clear of the door gear. The lead has its own holder underneath instead of lying across the floor.

The garage already had energy equipment in it and the owner did not want a tangle of cable and switchgear added to it. We set the Sigenergy AC charger alongside the existing system, with its own isolation and a wall holder for the lead. It reads as one tidy setup rather than two.

A large battery system was already in place here, so the charger had to join an existing energy setup rather than stand on its own. The GoodWe went in beside the batteries with dedicated isolation and the lead within reach of the parking spot. Bollards protect the battery in an area cars move through.

No garage wall sat anywhere near where this car parks. The most practical point was the covered outdoor parking, so the Wall Connector went straight onto the structural timber post. The tethered lead stores around the unit and stays within reach of the bay.

Everything you need to know about EV charger installation on the Gold Coast.
It depends on three things: the charger you choose, how far the board sits from where the car parks, and whether the switchboard needs work first. Those are exactly what the site assessment settles, and the quote covers the charger, the installation and any board upgrade it needs, so nothing turns up on install day that was not priced.
A straightforward wall charger is usually a single day on site. Longer cable runs, a switchboard upgrade or a commercial install with multiple bays take more. From paying the deposit, we are typically on site within one to two weeks.
Only if you want more than about 7kW. Single phase tops out there whichever charger you buy. Three phase is what unlocks 11kW and 22kW, and the car has to be able to accept it too. We read it off your meter box before quoting, so you find out before you have committed to anything.
The one that matches your supply, your car and whatever solar or battery is already on the property. We install Ocular, zappi, Tesla, Sigenergy, Sungrow, GoodWe and EcoFlow, and every one of them can prioritise surplus solar so the export going back to the grid at a few cents goes into the car instead.
Yes. Workplaces, retail, hotels, strata and fleet car parks, including sub boards, load management across multiple bays, data feeds and signage. We are the predominant Queensland installer for Ohmie Go, whose charging sits in hotels across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Yes. Larger installs need network approval, and the network can require a relay so it can shed load when the grid is under strain, the same way it does with air conditioning and solar. Jobs do get knocked back for missing it. We handle it, and every installation is completed to AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 5139.
